Aiko Melendez is set to undergo surgery after sustaining injury due to boxing as she showed her hand in a cast, explaining that her two fingers got broken.
In a Facebook live video, Aiko shared that she will be undergoing surgery and asked for prayers from her fans and followers but assured the staff and her co-stars in ‘Prima Donnas’ that she will still be present during their taping amid her situation.

Aiko said: “Instead of posting a statement, mas okay na mas marinig nyo sa akin para I don’t have to explain my side anymore nang paulit-ulit, so para mapanood niyo na lang.
“Ito ang nangyari sa akin. Naka-cast po yung kamay ko po, yung dalawang finger ko po kasi, apparently, nabali from boxing.”
Aiko explained that her punch went too hard which caused her injury, saying: “Kaya iyon, yung kamay ko na-injure. Medyo napalakas po yung suntok ko kaya nabali po yung kamay ko, so iyon po yung aking explanation bakit po ako naka-cast.
“So Thursday po, magse-surgery na po ako, si Doc Gomez po ang mag-oopera sa akin. Sa kasamaang-palad po, e, ganun po kalala ang dinanas ng aking kamay.”
Aiko then told her ‘Prima Donnas’ family: “Sa Prima Donnas family ko po, huwag po kayong mag-worry, magte-taping po ako bukas [November 27]. Iyon nga lang, mahihirapan ang mga direktor ko kung paano po nila dadayain ito.
“Pero, you know, as the saying goes, the show must go on.”
