Jane De Leon “HYLT” cover gets criticized: “Sayang ung costumes and editing”

Kapamilya star Jane De Leon’s “How You Like That” dance cover earned mixed reactions from netizens. Jane is supposed to play the role of the iconic Filipino superhero “Darna”, but because of the pandemic – everything was put into a halt for the meantime.

Jane shared her version of the Korean girl group, Blackpink’s latest comeback single “How You Like That” in her YouTube channel. The said cover was directed by Jay-Ar Villarojas. “This is my own version of “HYLT.” Our concept was to approach this project not only as a dance cover but more so as a music video. ☺️ Thank you to the awesome team who made this vision possible!!!❤️” said Jane.

Netizens expressed their admiration on the editing, costumes and efforts on the said video but they can’t help but notice the lack on Jane’s dancing as they commented:

– “I find her so stiff. Sayang ung costumes and editing”

– “The edit and the props (lit af) stole Jane’s spotlight, it should be the other way around. It should highlight your dance moves, your talent.
PS. The best pa din dance cover ni AC Bonifacio #nohate”

– “The editing was lit, the props was great, but her dance sucksss ( my opinion)”

– “Sayang yung editing skills, props and costumes. Hindi same level ng dancing. Sobrang nakulangan ako sa impact ng sayaw. Sayang talaga.”

– “settings, props, lighting and editing are great!! THE DANCING??? WALA BAGSAK. This video’s purpose is only for clout from the blinks. Dance cover pero di kita yung sayaw tas wala talagang essence ng pagsasayaw. Acting ka na lang Jane”
