After taking a break from acting, John Lloyd Cruz will return on the big screen as he was introduced as one of the cast members of the film ‘Culion’ starring Iza Calzado, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Meryll Soriano.
In the film’s teaser trailer, John Lloyd was shown towards the ending where he removed his hat and nodded, leaving speculations about the role he will be playing in the movie.

Prior to the release of the film’s teaser, John Lloyd’s role was kept as a secret though photos of him while seemingly shooting with a crew earlier circulated social media.
The film which is directed by Alvin Yapan and written by Ricky Lee is set in the 1940s and follows the story of three leper patients Anna (Iza), Doris (Jasmine), and Ditas (Meryll).
In a report by Push, Culion producer Shandii Bacolod shared about John Lloyd’s part in the film but did not reveal specific details.
He said: “I can only say two things about his role, he plays a very important role in the film and number two, his role is connected to Meryll Soriano. For now yun pa lang ang puwede sabihin.”
