Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano stayed in the U.S. for a couple of months last 2019 as she had to undergo surgery for her injured finger which she sustained while shooting the defunct Kapamilya series ‘Bagani’.
While she was out of the country, several rumors made rounds online regarding her hiatus including reports that she allegedly got pregnant.

During her interview in the late night show ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda,’ Liza directly denied pregnancy rumors, saying: “I wasn’t bothered by other people’s speculations. I expected it, ‘Oh, they’re gonna think [I’m pregnant] because I’m gone for so long. I was more upset with the person who came up with it, like, a whole video and everything.
“They didn’t even bother to ask my manager, who was here the whole time or even ask me first. Parang, they were putting out a blind item that they made it so obvious that they were talking about me. I was actually in surgery when the video came out,” she added.
Liza then said that she did not bother to take legal actions against people spreading false news and continued: “My fans wanted me to sue him or something… I was, like, I am not ruining someone’s life just because they decided to make a silly rumor about me.
“I think it’s bad enough already that he got a taste of his own medicine and everyone got mad at him.”
