There are still small pockets of celebration to enjoy in these trying times, as Pokwang shared the joy of celebrating her mother’s 80th birthday with the rest of us.

“80th birthday na ni mama Gloria… laking pasasalamat sa Dios na kasama kapa rin namin mama, at nayayakap at naaalagaan, ito ang lagi kong dasal 🙏🏼 salamat po… niyakap ko sya today at sabi ko, Ma wala muna tayo party party ha kasi may pinagdaraanan ang bansa at ang mundo, hindi na sya nakakapagsalita kaya hinawakan nya ng mahigpit ang kamay ko at parang sinabi nya na ok lang anak at magdasal 🙏🏼 i love you mama Glo!! Happy 80th birthday.” her long and heartfelt caption reads.

I hugged my mother today and said, Ma, let’s not have a party just yet because the world is going through something fierce. She can no longer speak so she just held me tight and somehow said that it was okay, to spend time praying instead.)
Pokwang has been active in relief efforts for the coronavirus. She has been sighted giving food and water to frontliners around Metro Manila.
