Pokwang’s former partner Lee O’Brian deported from the Philippines

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported American Lee O’Brian, the former partner of actress Pokwang (‘Marietta Subong in real life),

Pokwang filed a deportation case against O’Brian last year claiming that O’Brian rendered work in different production companies without securing the required Department of Labor and Employment and BI permits.

The BI found merit in Pokwang’s case and ordered O’Brian’s deportation in December last year. O’Brian filed a motion for reconsideration but was eventually denied.

The BI approved the complaint, citing that his active involvement in the country’s entertainment industry from 2016 to 2023 violated the permissions allowable within his tourist visa.

In a Facebook post by the BI, it says:

“BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that O’Brian was deported evening of April 8 on board a Philippine Airlines flight to San Francisco after the BI confirmed that he has no pending local case in the Philippines.

As a consequence of his deportation, his name has been included in the BI’s blacklist, barring any future attempts to re-enter the country.”
