Quezon City Major Joy Belmonte is being bashed online by netizens who criticizes her way of handling the COVID-19 problem in the city. Some even are comparing her actions as to the actions of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto.
On her Facebook page, Mayor Belmonte addressed her bashers by posting the following:

“My friend Angeli Pangilinan, Gary Valenciano’s wife, messaged me earlier to tell me I was being bashed for distributing health kits to the barangays due to a taken out context caption reposted by my socmed on my official page from a lengthy personal post – an honest oversight on their part.
I told myself, i feel by far happier being bashed distributing health kits ( and I thank my dedicated staff for braving the threat of the virus to make sure families receive these items in their own homes ) than being bashed for committing plunder, graft and corruption, which are illegal offenses.
Even tho I am being bashed for distributing health kits, (and following logic, probably bashed later for distributing food, school bags and school supplies), I am still grateful that this is all my enemies can pin on me after 10 years of public service.”
