Eat Bulaga host Ruby Rodriguez couldn’t help but to break in tears as she shares the story of her deceased sister Dr. Salvacion R. Gatchalian, MD, FPPS, FPIDSP on a YouTube live-streamed broadcast of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho: Fallen COVID-19 Heroes.
Apart from being known as the president of the Philippine Pediatric Society, Dr. Gatchalian shared a wonderful life with her sister Ruby in her existence. Ruby mouths crying “were really very, very close. We’d shop together, watch a movie together, eat together. We have our yearly trips na bawal kasama ang mga asawa. Bawal kasama mga anak, kami lang. We did that. I mean, just me and her, were so close.”

When being asked if she was proud of her sister, Ruby responded doubtlessly saying “Sobra.”
Dr. Gatchalian’s husband expressed his appreciation as he honors his wife’s death by responding “We were sworn to protect life at any cost even to our lives” when asked by Soho if it’s a relief to die with boots on referring to his wife.
Getting her almost hard to talk, Ruby ends with an encouragement saying “Pasasaan pa, mananalo din tayo. Keep the faith”
