Vice Ganda and Ion Perez have been in a relationship for over a year now and the comedian happily shared how both of their families have been very supportive to both of them.
While he mentioned how his mom had the chance to meet Ion’s mother and other family members, Vice shared how he wants to protect the privacy of his boyfriend’s family which is also one of the reasons why they kept their relationship for a while.

Vice said in his interview with Pep and other members of the press during the press conference of his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry ‘The Mall the Merrier’: “Nagpunta na yung nanay ko sa bahay nila [Ion]. Kumakain lang sila ng kakanin.”
“Yung pamilya ni Ion talaga masaya. Yung pamilya ni Ion, isang simple at pangkaraniwang pamilyang Pilipino, kasi I was able to visit in his place.’Tapos na-meet ko yung mga kapatid niya… napakatipikal at napakanormal at masaya,” Vice said.
He then shared how he wants to protect Ion’s family from people outside of their relationship, saying: “Isa rin yun sa mga dahilan ko dati kung bakit ayoko sanang ipangalandakan, kasi siyempre, kapag mahal mo yung tao, poprotektahan mo rin yung mga mahal niya. Gusto kong protektahan yun. Kasi kapag in-invade na ng panlabas na mga tao pati parte ang buhay na personal, di ba, hindi masarap yun sa pakiramdam ko, e.”
Vice also said that he does not want other people’s lives to be compromised because of his happiness with Ion as he shared: “Hindi ko rin gugustuhing magulo ang buhay ng ibang tao dahil lang sa sayang nararamdaman namin. That would be very selfish na sarili lang ang iniintindi namin, yung pamilya namin hindi namin iniisip… Kasi ang pamilya niya talaga ang saya-saya at ang bait-bait. Mahal ako ng pamilya niya.”
