While actor turned politician Senator Robin Padilla is busy dodging the “Vice President” tag in the halls of the Senate, his daughter, actress Kylie Padilla, found herself at the center of a different kind of headline: a supposed vow to leave the country if her father sought higher office.
Recently, Kylie stepped forward to clear the air, proving that even in a family of actors and politicians, words can be easily misdirected by the social media spotlight.
The controversy stemmed from a comment Kylie made, or rather, how that comment was interpreted regarding her father’s potential 2028 trajectory. As rumors swirled that the Senator might be eyeing a Vice Presidential bid, Kylie’s “aalis na ‘ko ng Pilipinas” (I’m leaving the Philippines) remark went viral, painted by many as a dramatic protest against her father’s political ambitions.
“Aalis na ako ng Pilipinas. I have no reaction but aalis na ako ng Pilipinas. Aalis na po ako ng Pilipinas. Ayon lang po ang comment. Hindi, ano na lang. I trust in my father’s judgment. Ayon lang.” said Kylie.

Her statement went viral prompting the beautiful actress to quickly inject some reality into the narrative. Her explanation? It wasn’t a political ultimatum; it was a personal reflection on peace.
On her Instagram Story, Kylie made the following clarification:
“Please do not take my statement and use it against my father. I admire all the good he is doing for our country…’Di ko sinabi ‘yun to insult him or anyone else. I love him and only wish for him to be happy and safe always.
I only meant that aalis po ako ng Pilipinas kasi gusto ko ng tahimik na buhay. It was not a comment to insult my father because I trust in his judgement and all the good he is doing for this country.” Kylie wrote.
