battlescars (Music & Lyrics by Kakie) we’ve been here before veterans of our fathers’ wars all have felt like this broken pieces, hard to fix but my heart keeps beating to this rhythm i’m hearing like a drum, pounds in my chest like, pum-padum-padum now i know the meaning of this hurt not healing now i know now i know easy come, easy go, some things fix fast, some painfully slow, does it really matter when there has got to be a plan never has to be the end so broken pieces remind me that what tries to hurt me simply defines me understand, things get better, they can, battlescars only make me who i am. we’ve been here before wins and losses, keeping score, scared of opening up in fear of what comes in not sure what really matters, what’s to be, what’s been broken pieces hard to fix but i have my battlescars my feet have taken me this far like that drum – pounds in my chest like pum-padum-padum this familiar feeling is what keeps me going now i know now i know easy come, easy go, some things fix fast, some painfully slow, does it really matter when there has got to be a plan never has to be the end there will be things that harm me they will leave scars that forever mark me i will run and keep faith wont be blinded by hate eyes on tomorrow not the sorrow of yesterday. oh we have battlescars, reminds us of our broken parts. oh we have war wounds, reminds us what we’ve lost so soon. oh we have battlescars, reminds us of our broken hearts. oh we have war wounds, reminds us what we’ve lost so soon. oh we have battlescars reminds us of our broken parts oh we’ve had war wounds reminds us what we’ve lost so soon.
