James Reid and Nancy McDonie’s ‘Soulmate Project’ to follow K-Drama format with 13 episodes

Fans of Kapamilya actor James Reid and Nancy McDonie from the Korean girl group ‘Momoland’ have been anticipating their upcoming ‘Soulmate Project’ where they will be paired for the first time.

According to director and writer Antoinette Jadaone, the series is not like the typical Pinoy teleserye as it will be following the format of US and K-drama series and will be having 13 episodes.

Jadaone said in her interview with ABS-CBN News: “Hindi siya teleserye. It’s a series because it’s 13 episodes. It’s not like how we do teleseryes na you do it per script every day, with a weekly script.”

“It’s more my kind of process. I write the whole series na tapos na, unlike in teleseryes na hindi mo alam kung kailan siya matatapos,” she added.

Jadaone then shared how challenging the project is for her unlike writing scripts for film, saying: “There is more control sa kung ano ang mangyayari sa bawat character, sa story. But also, mas mahirap siya, kasi I realize it’s not the same as writing a film script, a screenplay. It’s different, it’s harder to write a series pala. Pero since andiyan na, gagalingan ko na lang!”

Production for ‘Soulmate Project’ will begin in 2020.
