Netizens accuse Solenn Heussaff of using ‘poverty’ to promote her art

Fans and followers of Kapuso star Solenn Heusaff expressed mix reactions over the latest photo that she shared on her social media account.

In her Instagram account, Solenn posted a photo of her as she announced that she will open her third solo exhibit. Solenn shared that her exhibit was entitled “Kundiman”.

“Happy to share that after almost 3 years in the making, I will be having my 3d solo exhibit at @modeka.art . Mixing massive Acrylic paintings and my new found love for rug designing.

Entitled KUNDIMAN, this exhibit expresses my love, appreciation and hope for our country and our people. Hope you guys can make time and pass by. Safety protocols to follow. March 26 2021 – April 24 2021” Solenn wrote in the caption.

It seemed that the said photo of Solenn left a bad impression to some netizens as they expressed their concerns in the comment section. One netizen wrote “you’re a great artist but this photo was done in poor taste. Using poverty to promote your art is very insensitive. Rich people and their poverty porn.”

“sorry this is not my intention at all. If this was shot in the middle of BGC then you would say i live in a bubble. I love my country and everything that makes it what it is. Maybe when you see the full exhibit you will understand what im trying to bring to light.” explained Solenn.

Another netizen commented “Poverty porn? Is this how u sell ur arts, Miss Solen?”

“this is not poverty porn. If you read my caption and get to see the whole show you will understand and not be so quick to judge.✌” Solenn replied back.
