Veteran character actor Nonong “Bangkay” de Andres passes away at 71

Veteran character actor Nonong “Bangkay” de Andres who played the role of “Bangky” in the defunct Kapamilya television series “Forevermore” passed away on Tuesday, November 6, in Plaridel, Quezon. He was 71.

The sad news was confirmed by his nephew Powee Capino in a Facebook post as he asked for prayers for his “Tito Nonong”.

He wrote: “Please pray for the eternal repose of the soul of my Tito Nonong who passed away early this morning. He is more popularly known as “Bangkay” in horror movies and “Bangky” in Forevermore. This is aside from the hundreds of movies and tv appearance
s he was in throughout his acting career. He was 71.”

Apart from his role as “Bangky” in the series starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, Nonong also starred in several horror and comedy films and was dubbed as “Bangkay” because of his roles portraying “dead” persons.
