Actress Rica Peralejo and her husband, Pastor Joseph Bonifacio marked another milestone on their relationship as they celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
Rica took to her Instagram account to express her love to her husband, Pastor Bong on their special day. In a lengthy message that she wrote, Rica expressed her honest thoughts and sentiments about marriage. Rica also revealed that she and her husband almost ‘fell apart’.
Rica also inspired her fans and followers as she wrote:
“No one is going to be for your marriage as much as the two of you. And… well, read on.
Your work will be for your work.
Your children will be for your themselves.
Your sport is for your sport.
Yourself for, well, will be for your self.
No wonder divorce abounds. Because there are too many things around you that say they are more important than your marriage. That they are more pressing. Or holier, even.
Admittedly, we fell for some of these lies in the last 12 years. We believed there are things so important it is worth sacrificing each other for. And fell is an apt term as we almost fell apart doing that. It is a good thing that God continues to save. And that He is a good keeper of our marriage. He created this union and sustains it. He is for it, even more than we are for it, that’s the strangest thing of all. 💭

This hasn’t been truer in the last twelve years until today. How important it is to keep saying we are for the marriage before all the rest of these competing and seemingly crucial things pull you away from each other. Because there will be many. And they will all seem worth your marriage. But nothing should be that. God himself is not for that, why should you or anyone be?
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
We are still here because God has never stopped being for us, @josephbonifacio, and in a way no one else ever will. Not even you, not even me. Twelve years of the rest of our lives, and it’s already been such a great showcase of God’s faithfulness. Aren’t we so grateful to Him? 🙌🏻”
